Senator James G. Douglas, a Dublin business and and a Quaker and Irish nationalist, was active in the Irish White Cross, 1920-22. These memoirs relate his involvement in the events of 1916-26. He casts fresh light on some events - revealing for example his secret meetings with De Valera in the closing stages of the Civil War.
